TIPS ON DECIDING WHICH GUN:
GUN LENGTH:
Length of the gun can be a large determining factor in many
aspects. Shorter guns allow better maneuverability in lakes
as well as oceans; around rocky areas to kelp forests. In
low visibility areas; one must be fast at aiming and firing.
With a longer gun you will be on the fish before you have
time to react. The longer the gun, the more bands and power
one can obtain and longer range.
If diving a LAKE; we wouldn't recommend a gun longer than
42"; if having the best visibility at around 15ft range.
Band or Pneumatic.
If diving a OCEAN; we
wouldn't recommend a gun shorter than 48". And a
BAND gun only for this type of application. Depending on
size of fish, a slip tip or breakaway may also be good idea.
NUMBER OF BANDS NEEDED:
More bands equals More power. With power comes longer range.
